Osteoarthritis is a form of joint degeneration, it usually occurs from wear-and-tear, old-age, lack of nutrients; all of these things contribute to osteoarthritis. It's where the joint itself, one joint, will start to deteriorate and it eats away the cartilage and the bone and it'll start to swell and it will create a nodule that is asymmetric from the other hand. Usually it occurs on one side of the body versus the other, it's worse after exercise, sometimes worse in the morning but most often people with osteoarthritis feel more pain in one joint at the end of a long day and that's really a key characteristic of osteoarthritis. If you think you have it or you know you have it come on in we'll get it evaluated!
