Fibromyalgia is a difficult thing to diagnose, because it's not really something you can look for in blood or lab work. It's something that, your brain perceives pain differently than normal, so it's subjective. If you get the same injury as someone else, it's gonna hurt a lot more for you, and that's hard for me to measure in the office. However, there are 18 points, that if we press on them and you experience high levels of pain on these 18 points at at least 11 of them. Then it's likely you have it.

Regular, low-intensity exercise, such as walking or warm-water exercise such as swimming, is one of the best treatments for fibromyalgia. It helps decrease pain and stiffness, reduce stress, and may increase your sense of control over fibromyalgia. You may also sleep better due to the activity. The key is starting slow and increase in increments.
